Caesar the Camel...
We received this story through our newstip line. 9NEWS Photojournalist Kevin Sullivan went out and shot it and I wrote it. Sully also edited the story.
Fairplay's Rain Dance
This has been an extremely hot summer for Colorado. For a couple days straight, we broke past 100 degree temps. Due to the dry, hot temps - Colorado dealt with a number of terrible wildfires. In an effort to put the fires out, the tiny Colorado town of Fairplay held a 'Rain Dance'. I shot, wrote and edited this entire piece from start to finish within three hours.
The Story of Linda SteadmanWhen a massive fire broke out in Northern Colorado in June, it devastated communities across the burn area. More than 180 homes were destroyed and the fire grew larger than 55,000 acres. The High Park fire only claimed one life: Linda Steadman's. Her family decided to talk exclusively to 9news, but they wouldn't provide us with a picture of her. Without a picture and without video of where her home burned, I had to think of a different way to tell this story. I shot/wrote/edited it. The feedback was very positive.

The Sand Cranes of Monte Vista
I've told thousands of stories over the last eight years, but none mean as much to me as this one. I'm not a hundred percent sure why, but this is my favorite one-man-band story. I think I enjoy it so much because it was a beautiful shoot and the people profiled in it put a smile on my face. It's not my best work, but it's my favorite piece. I shot/wrote/edited it.
Fire in the FieldsI love covering spot news. It's probably my favorite type of news to report on. In the late Spring of 2012, photojournalist Kevin Sullivan and I were dispatched to the far corners of Eastern Colorado to report on a massive wildfire. The fire destroyed thousands of acres of land, dozens of cattle and at least three homes. Sully and I told three stories in one day. I was happy with all of them. This one is my favorite.
Boulder's Pearl Street PoetThis is a story I one-man-banned back in the Spring of 2012. I received a news tip about a man who people in Bouder called the 'Pearl Street Poet'. After I talked to him on the phone I knew he would make for a good Storytellers piece. I shot/wrote/edited the entire piece.
