"I hate clichés but I have to use one today… “if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” We tried to hire reporter Kevin Torres about 2 years ago and today, Kevin is now a member of the award winning 9News team. Kevin is a very strong storyteller who targeted KUSA as part of his career plan for several years. This time the opportunity was right for Kevin and us so he will join our team on September 1st" - Patti Dennis/KUSA News Director (Note to employees about my hiring) (8/5/09)

Comments:
"I don't have to tell you what a unique talent Kevin is, with a rare combination of great vision and the ability to execute, and oh yeah, seldom does a day go by when Kevin doesn't have one or two or three story ideas! Kevin will be a huge loss for NC9" - Jim Tortora/WSYR News Director (10/8/08)
"Kevin IS the future, and will do an amazing job" - Jim Tortora/WSYR News Director in regards to my departure to KUSA (8/5/09)
“Kevin is the future of news gathering in televison today! This guy has it all! His many gifts include the ability to shoot, write, produce and edit at the highest level. His technical newsgathering skills are only surpassed by his compassion and creativity, which he shares on a daily basis with each of his subjects. Kevin takes the time to get it right. He listens and allows the story to be told and shared through him instead of becoming the focus himself. A true leader and a quick study, Kevin will be a success no matter where his backpack takes him.” - Joe Piciotto/Chief Photographer WSYR (8/24/09)
